Dear Friends, Dear Members of the Community,
Today, we are facing a difficult trial. The synagogue of La Grande Motte, a sacred place for all of us, has been the target of an unspeakable act of violence. This incendiary attack has deeply wounded our community, and the material damage is significant. But beyond the blackened walls and the destroyed sacred objects, it is our faith and our identity that have been attacked.
Why do we need your help?
Unfortunately, insurance has not been able to cover the full cost of the repairs. The amount needed to repair our synagogue and protect it against future threats is €120,000. This sum will be used to:
Repair and restore our synagogue: The flames have damaged a significant part of our place of worship. It is crucial to restore this space, not only so that we can once again pray there, but also to preserve this living symbol of our history and our faith.
Strengthen security: To prevent any recurrence, we must urgently install modern and effective security systems. Protecting our synagogue means protecting our community, our values, and our future.
A call to the entire Jewish community of France
This attack does not affect only the community of La Grande Motte. It is an attack on our religion, our culture, and our heritage. Today, we call on all Jews of France to mobilize. No matter where you live, no matter which synagogue you attend, we ask for your support. Your solidarity is essential so that our synagogue can reopen its doors and continue to be a place of spiritual life, education, and gathering.
Every donation counts, every gesture is precious
We invite you to make a donation, no matter how modest. Every euro will contribute to the reconstruction of our place of worship, to restore this symbol of our faith. By contributing to this campaign, you are not only supporting a particular synagogue, but you are participating in the defense and preservation of our entire community in France.
How to contribute?
Why now?
It is imperative to act quickly. The repair work and the installation of security systems must begin immediately so that the synagogue can reopen its doors. Without your help, this place dear to our hearts could remain closed indefinitely, an immeasurable loss for our community.
Together, we are stronger
In the face of this act of hatred, our response must be clear and unanimous: we will not be intimidated. Through your support, you affirm that solidarity is more powerful than hatred, that our community is unshakeable, and that our faith will never be shaken.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity, your support, and your commitment.
